Yangshan International Container Transit Logistics Park

Situated at the entrance of Yangtze River, Yangshan Deep Sea Port is the gateway for second tier industry cities in mainland China along the Yangtze River with high populations, such as Chongqing and Wuhan. Since its 2005 grand opening, Yang Shan Deep Sea Port has consistently grown in terms of TEU handing from 3 Million TEU a year to over 6 Million TEU in 2007. The achievement is tremendous as it normally took other large international ports more than 10 years to reach this level.

The development of the Yangshan International Container Transit Logistics Park is oriented by the China central government industry policies. The goal of the project is to facilitate Yang Shang Deep Sea port to become the largest international shipping hub within North-East Asia, so it is capable of competing with Hong Kong, Singapore, Kaohsiung(Taiwan), and Busan(Korea) to become the most important sea port in Asia. The project will transform Yangshan Deep Sean Port from a basic port to a multi functional modern logistics centre to connect manufacturing logistic, trading companies, cargo agent, shipping agent, custom clearance, insurance, finance and other services directly.

Yangshan International Container Transit Logistics Park proposal conforms to the China government's strategic framework of the Yangshan Deep Sea Port. This international commercial project has the characteristics of a modern large service industry which is fully supported and promoted by the Chinese government. Yangshan International Container Transit Logistics Park will be comprised of an "International Transit Area" (Ocean to Ocean), "Domestic Transit Area" (Ocean to River), and a "value added service area". It will become the international transit service centre within the Yangshan Deep Sea Port area, as well as the business centre for large shipping companies and leading logistics companies. The park will develop into an innovative, logistics service providing platform for the modern international shipping logistics industry.
